In a significant stride toward combating water scarcity and poverty in East Africa, HRH Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, Founder of We Care for Humanity (WCH), successfully installed two solar-powered shallow water wells in the Mwingi region of Kenya this past December.
The initiative, executed under the Water for Humanity Program of WCH and aligned with the organization’s Ending Poverty/Food and Water Advocacy, marks a vital development for the communities of Mangani and Thonoa.
The inauguration was hosted by Honorable Gideon Mulyungi, MP of Mwingi, and supported by Hon. Kennedy Musyoka, MP of Eastern Africa, alongside Ms. Belynn Lam, CEO of Lam Global. The project was meticulously coordinated on the ground by Mr. Benjamin Musunza, the WCH Country Director for Kenya.
In a display of collaborative governance, MP Dr. Irene Kasalu generously donated a water tank to support the Mangani water well infrastructure.

"By installing these solar-powered wells, we are not just providing a resource; we are empowering the families of Mangani and Thonoa to build a sustainable future. Coinciding with the water infrastructure inauguration, WCH launched its renowned Global Santa Program in the region. The festivities provided meals to over 3,000 people across both locations. The massive humanitarian relief effort included the distribution of over 2 million goodies and essential items to local residents. To further assist the families, Hon. Gideon Mulyungi distributed cash grants during the event.

The humanitarian effort was mobilized in response to the health challenges faced by the orphans’ guardian, Archimandrite Chrysostomos Karambelas, who recently underwent multiple surgeries. To ensure the children were not left behind during the festive season while their guardian recovers, the WCH team stepped in to provide essential support and holiday cheer.
The mission was spearheaded by WCH Greece and Cyprus Ambassador, Dr. Katerina Glykou Fontinia, and WCH Greece Interim Country Director, Ms. Jenny Michalopolous. They were joined by a dedicated group of ten female members of WCH Greece and the organization’s social media team from the group "It is us - not me - because ego is over" (https://www.facebook.com/groups/124215304408005/?ref=share).
Together, the volunteers delivered a substantial donation of food, including meat, bread, and various holiday goodies, ensuring the children enjoyed a festive meal and felt the embrace of their community.
Archimandrite Chrysostomos Karambelas is a cherished member of the humanitarian community, having been knighted by We Care for Humanity in September 2025 during the Heptapolis - Trilogy, the Vision of Delphi event in Athens.

In one of the most poignant chapters of the 2025 Global Santa Program, We Care for Humanity (WCH) extended its reach to a specialized care facility in Rizal, providing essential support and pastoral guidance to young survivors of abuse.
The mission was personally sponsored and coordinated by Ms. Cristi Santos Pangilinan, WCH Regional Director for Rizal, in close collaboration with Pastora Rizaline Irene Torres Pascual, WCH Country Director for the Philippines. Due to the sensitive nature of the institution—which provides sanctuary for girls aged 10 to 17 who have survived traumatic domestic circumstances—the location remains undisclosed and the identities of the beneficiaries have been strictly protected to ensure their safety and dignity.

The visit focused on providing both practical resources and emotional restoration. Each of the young women received:

PHU YEN, VIETNAM – Following the successful conclusion of the 8th WCH Royal Summit in Bali, Indonesia, the We Care for Humanity (WCH) delegation returned to Vietnam to face a national catastrophe. In response to the severe flooding and typhoon aftermath that has claimed numerous lives and caused billions of dollars in damages, WCH has activated an early deployment of its "Global Santa" program to provide immediate relief to the hardest-hit communities.
The emergency mission was spearheaded by WCH Founder, HRH Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, and executed on the ground by the WCH Vietnam leadership, including Country Director Bai Huong Vo, Deputy Director Hoa Lam, and Royal Maharlika Cabinet Member Thanh Lam, alongside a dedicated team of volunteers.
From Summit to Service While the WCH Royal Summit in Bali celebrated global humanitarianism, the situation in Vietnam demanded immediate action. As reported by international news outlets, the region has been devastated by extreme weather, leaving thousands without food, clean water, or shelter.
“The true measure of our organization is not just in the summits we hold, but in how quickly we respond when humanity is in pain,” said Queen Mariam. “We have launched the Global Santa initiative early this year because hunger and cold do not wait for the holidays. We stand with the people of Vietnam.”
Impact and Distribution The WCH team successfully reached six critical locations in the Phu Yen province and surrounding areas, distributing tons of rice, clean water, warm blankets, essential groceries, and financial aid to over 600 families and institutions.

Tuy An, Dong: 200 families received 1,000 kilos of rice, 200 blankets, 200 bottles of water, 200 bottles of soy sauce, and cash assistance.
Xa Hoa Thang, Phu Yen: 200 families were served with 1,000 kilos of rice, 200 blankets, 200 bottles of mineral water, and cash assistance.
Khuong Son Temple, Phu Yen: 50 families received 100 kilos of rice, 50 blankets, 50 cartons of milk, 50 bottles of soy sauce, 50 bottles of cooking oil, and cash assistance.
Co Nhi Vien Mang Lang (Orphanage), Phu Yen: The team donated 100 kilos of rice, 50 blankets, 50 bottles of milk, 50 bottles of cooking oil, and $600 USD in cash aid for the facility.

The operation's success was ensured by a massive volunteer effort, which saw the entire cache of goods sorted and packed in less than 24 hours. The team of volunteers, led by the Royal Ladies of Maguindanao, was so extensive that the fashion atelier of Bai Nurainie Datumanong Ampatuan was generously converted into a temporary packing headquarters to accommodate the scale of the operation.
"Seeing the resilience of these families is humbling. This was a monumental effort, only made possible by the incredible spirit of bayanihan," said HRH Queen Mariam. "I am in awe of our Davao team, who mobilized their entire families to shop, pack, and deliver this aid. We Care for Humanity (WCH) celebrated a successful "Hat Soiree" on October 5th, an afternoon of elegance, fashion, and philanthropy that raised funds to acquire special toys for its beneficiary, Autism & Behavioral Consulting Services.
The glamorous event, held in Las Vegas, was spearheaded by the WCH Las Vegas Chapter, under the dynamic leadership of Regional Director Lola Smallen and WCH Humanitarian Ambassadors Leah Halama and Helen Hong. The soiree was held under the patronage of HRH Maha Putri (Queen) Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, the esteemed founder of We Care for Humanity.
The afternoon brought together a compassionate community, including members of the WCH Los Angeles Chapter, headed by Bai Hong Vo and Bai Thanh Lam, and residents of the Rhodes Ranch Community. The fundraising efforts were a creative success, featuring exclusively designed hats by Lola Smallen and exquisite fashion accessories by Queen Mariam, which were sold to enthusiastic guests. Additional donations from attendees further boosted the funds raised for the noble cause. A highlight of the evening was a vibrant fashion show where guests joyfully modeled their new hats and accessories, filling the room with energy and camaraderie.
The following day, October 6th, the WCH delegation fulfilled its mission. Led by Queen Mariam and the Las Vegas Chapter, the group visited Autism & Behavioral Consulting to personally deliver a generous donation of interactive and colorful toys designed to support the therapy and development of children with autism. The WCH team was given a special tour of the state-of-the-art facility, followed by a productive meeting with the center's management to forge lasting connections and plan future collaborative engagements.

"This event was not just about raising funds; it was about raising spirits and creating a circle of care around these wonderful children. Datu Suod Ibrahim- Daram sa Magindanaw, Datu Jimmy Asim- Datu Mompong sa Kutawato sa Magindanaw, Datu Jordan Sinsuat- Datu Dikaya III, Datu Alee Uy- Marajalayla Salamen Magindanaw, Datu Zainudin Anan Kabulan- Datu Lawan na Datu Dikaya, HRH Febs Mastura Matalam, Royal Princess sa Magindanaw, HRH Jasma Mastura Karon- Rajah Bai sa Magindanaw, HRH Harjida Mastura Karon- Bailaga sa Magindanaw, Fatima Abdulrakman- Bailawan sa Dikaya, and foreign guest, Dr. Abdalla Sharief- Datu Marajalaila sa UN, who is also the president of United Nations Correspondents Association of Vienna (UNCAV), shared uplifting messages during the visit.
Ustadz Al-faradh Markadz expressed gratitude for the support and congratulated the newly enthroned Sultan on his prosperous reign.
The collaboration between the We Care for Humanity and the Sultanate of Magindanaw has significantly benefited the Markadz Al-arfadz Orphanage Center. During this 2nd visit, essential supplies such as rice and groceries were provided to support the orphanage's needs during Ramadan.
Their generous humanitarian gestures have truly embodied the spirit of Ramadan, bringing hope and joy to the underprivileged children.
Lebak, Sultan Kudarat- Amidst the vibrant landscapes of Lebak, in the province of Sultan Kudarat, another wondrous event unfolded with the help of We Care for Humanity and the Sultanate of Maguindanao. The GLOBAL SANTA MINDANAO FOOD DISTRIBUTION, 2023, an annual humanitarian endeavor, enfolded more than a hundred families in its warm embrace. The auspicious event was graced by the presence of His Majesty Sultan Salem Mastura Kudarat V, the 25th Supreme Sultan of Magindanaw, the Royal Ladies and Datus of the Sultanate.
This initiative, held under the patronage of HRH Queen Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, founder of WCH and the Head of the Royal House of Luzon Tagalog and the Royal Maharlika, reflects the unwavering commitment of the Sultanate to the well-being of its people in Mindanao, and of WCH to alleviate hunger.
The families that were present at the charity event were overjoyed to receive food and necessities that they otherwise might have gone without. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of the children as they received their gifts from the "Santa Claus" of humanity.

Help the People Foundation or HPF was the first humanitarian destination of We Care for Humanity (WCH) Founder, Princess Maria Amor as soon as she arrived in Dhaka, Bangladesh on April Fool’s Day from a trip in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
There, in the middle of very busy Dhaka, just behind the train tracks is the small HPF school dedicated in educating neglected children, the underprivileged and slum kids, being governed by board of directors of Help the People Foundation. According to Mr. Arifur Rahman, the school director, it is their mission to set up an independent child rehabilitation center for education for orphans and homeless children which is the purpose of HPF School and to set up a hospital to make medical treatment available for the poor.
Mr. Asif Chowdhury, Honorary Consul General of Chile to Bangladesh, a regular patron of HPF organized a donation of “Rickshaw” (a vehicle similar to a three-wheeled bicycle, having a seat for passengers behind the driver), in behalf WCH and Princess Amor. “I believe in the sustainable donation instead of a one-time relief gifts. I know by giving them Rickshaw, they have a sustainable income to help support their school.”, confidently said by Mr. Asif.
Princess Maria on her assessment of the visit to HPF, “I think Mr. Chowdhury’s idea of giving the school Rickshaw was very innovative, this will guarantee additional income for HPF. Likewise, I am very impressed with HPF and the people running it for their dedication and commitment to making a huge difference in these children’s lives. They bring hope to the less fortunate, HPF is a pride of Bangladesh.”, testified by Amor.
Consul Chowdhury will be honored at the Global Order of Dignitaries and Philanthropists (G.O.D.) Awards on July 28-29, 2018 at the Westin Rajarhat, Kolkata India.
Who doesn’t know CNN Hero Anuradha Koirala also known as “Diju”, a Nepalese term for elder sister. Anuradha received the prestigious Hero Award from CNN in 2010 for her unparalleled work for saving children, girls and women who were being trafficked within and from Nepal for commercial sexual exploitation. Koirala founded Maiti Nepal with the aim of providing services for both children and women who have endured untold pain and suffering, often in silence.
“It is a tremendous honor for me to meet Diju, ever since I saw her being honored at CNN Hero, I told myself I want to be like her, to make a difference in this world. She greatly inspired me especially it was during the time I founded We Care for Humanity (WCH), a non-profit organization which advocates Education, Health, Eradication of Poverty, Green Environment and Women Empowerment.”, said Princess Maria Amor Torres, Founder and President of WCH and Chairman of the Global Order of Dignitaries and Philanthropists (G.O.D.).
Fulfilling the mission of WCH, Amor and WCH India Advisor Chetan Hora brought hundreds of footwear to the children of Maiti Foundation. Along with relief goods, the Princess also donated some cash to augment some of the daily needs of the organization. “I am grateful to Princess Maria for giving time to visit our organization and bringing inspiration and hope to our children. These survivors have suffered a tremendous deal of pain, and they need your support and all the love and care they could get from people around the world.”, pleaded by Ms. Koirala.
