Balbir Seimar BEM is a distinguished volunteer leader, environmental advocate, and cultural ambassador from Walsall, United Kingdom. Awarded the British Empire Medal in 2021 for outstanding service to the homeless and the High Sheriff Award in 2025 for her decades of community engagement, Balbir embodies a rare blend of compassion, resilience, and civic leadership.
For over 25 years, she has been at the heart of grassroots humanitarian initiatives. She leads a women’s support group providing food and companionship to homeless individuals, strengthens public trust through the Walsall Police Strategic Community Reference Group, and champions inclusion as a “Stand-by-Me Ambassador”, encouraging the reporting of hate crimes.
Her environmental advocacy is equally profound. As Chief Community Engagement Ambassador for World Against Single Use Plastic (WASUP), she has organized school seminars across 33 institutions, spearheaded canal clean-ups, launched the WASUP Garden in Goscote, and supported urban greening efforts such as Severn Trent’s Commonwealth Forest tree-planting initiatives. These projects not only promote sustainability but also bring diverse communities together in shared purpose.
Culturally, Balbir plays an active role as Secretary of the Hindu Forum Walsall, advancing interfaith dialogue and heritage engagement through events such as the Lajna Imaillah centenary and community cultural festivals. Dr. Iyer is a distinguished academic leader, strategist, and education reformist with a remarkable career spanning 49 years divided as 28 yearsin industry and over 21 in academia. He also serves as International Head of the Chancellor’s Advisory Board at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru, and Co-Chairperson of its Off-Campus in Kochi, where his visionary leadership has helped shape the future of higher education.
An accomplished scholar, Dr. Iyer holds a D.Litt. in Education Management from National American University, USA, dual doctorates in Management from India and the USA, alongside an M.Phil., MBA, PGDBM, PGDPM, M.Com, LLB, and B.Com (Hons). Queen Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, founder of We Care for Humanity (WCH), has been honored as an Honorary Colonel by the United States National Reserve Army Corps (USNRC). This distinguished recognition, awarded during the Independence Day celebrations on July 4, 2025, celebrates her lifelong dedication to global humanitarian efforts and marks a new chapter in her service—extending her commitment to the United States and its veterans.
The festivities commenced with a lively July 4th Parade in Huntington Beach, California, followed by an official ceremony in Santa Ana. The event was attended by prominent USNRC officials, including Lt. General Gregory Bone, head of USNRC Alabama, and Region IV Chief Major General Randy Nguyen, who officiated the ceremony.
Queen Mariam is an internationally acclaimed humanitarian and the visionary founder of We Care for Humanity, an organization dedicated to promoting education, health, wellness, and the eradication of poverty and discrimination worldwide. WCH operates under the principle of "Spreading Humanity through Education, Health, and International Trade."
Upon receiving the honor, Queen Mariam expressed, “I am humbled and honored to receive the rank of Honorary Colonel. My life's work with WCH has always been centered on service to communities around the globe. This appointment allows me to bring that same spirit of service to the United States, supporting our veterans and communities in need. It is a privilege to work alongside the USNRC in this noble mission.”

On May 27, 2025, during the 7th WCH Royal Summit at the Gold Coast Hotel in Las Vegas, WCH awarded the USNRC the Medal of Honor and Valor for their exemplary service. Building on this collaboration, WCH and USNRC have announced a new initiative: a three-month feeding support program for veterans and USNRC members in California. Brasilia, Brazil – We Care for Humanity (WCH) Founder, Sultana Maria Amor Torres journeyed to Brazil for the second time this year. The main purpose of her visit was to attend the 200th year Anniversary of the Grande Oriente do Brazil (GOB) otherwise known as the Freemasons.
Torres, whose first visit to Brasilia made some impacts to a few charitable institutions and was recognized by the GOB, received a direct invitation from its Grand Master General, Sovereign Brother Múcio Bonifacio Guimarães. “It was difficult to refuse such powerful invitation coming from equally powerful personalities, I knew I had to come. WCH’s mission is in line with GOB’s advocacy, it was an honor to celebrate with them and to witness the greatness of the event filled with so much history.”, beamed the Sultana. She added, “of course, none of this would be possible without the coordination of my partners- Dr. Franco Nicoletti, Dr. Wellington Queiroz and Cav. Victor Francella. The Nicoletti Group and the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem (OSJ) Knights of Malta, Priory of Brazil were the main conduit of WCH in Brasilia. Through them we have met great people, institutions, and dignitaries”.
The weeklong celebration was attended by luminaries from all over the world. The princess attended two days of magnificent events including the GOB Recognition by the Senate at the State House of Law, the Cultural event and finally the Gala Dinner, both were held at the GOB Palace in Brasilia.
In this leg of her trips, the Sultana also had a chance to do sight-seeing of the city, courtesy of Fraternidade Femenina Brasilia, hosted by Ms. Shirley Pontes. “I had such a fun experience seeing the beautiful and historical places of Brasilia together with my friend Shirin Vafaeyan from Iran and had the opportunity to meet the lovely and notable Grand Masters’ spouses coming from different regions and nations who attended the GOB 200th Anniversary. Shirley Pontes was such a fantastic host; we couldn’t ask for more of her warmth and hospitality, we learned so much from her about Brasilia!” – said the WCH Founder.
Before packing her bags to travel to Manaus, Amor together with the Nicoletti Group was invited to visit the Instituto Shotokan de Karate, a non-profit organization providing martial arts education to the children and youth to keep them out of the street and away from drugs. Apparently, this institution has been producing champions who compete nationally and internationally. The group was impressed by the student’s martial arts demonstration and vowed to assist promote their mission.
Finally, upon leaving Brasilia, Amor announced her upcoming comeback to Brazil in August 2022 to bring the Himalaya Peace Caravan for a three-day event which will be facilitated by the Gruppo Nicoletti and the Academia Internacional de Cultura.
