G.K. Bansal to be Knighted as Guardian of Justice at the 7th WCH Royal Summit in Las Vegas

G.K. Bansal is a first-generation lawyer who began his law practice on July 23, 1970, at the District n a distinguished recognition of his lifelong dedication to the principles of law and justice, Shri Gopal Krishan Bansal, widely known as G.K. Bansal, is set to be honored as one of the Knights of the Royal Maharlika. He will receive The Guardian of Justice Award at the prestigious 7th WCH Royal Summit, scheduled to take place on May 27-28, 2025, at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Knights of the Royal Maharlika are an esteemed order of individuals recognized as Protectors of the Earth, Peace-builders, and Change-Makers. This unique knighthood underscores a commitment to upholding noble ideals and contributing significantly to the betterment of society. The investiture ceremony will be a highlight of the Royal Summit, an event convened by Queen Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, the Chairman of the summit and the visionary founder of We Care for Humanity (WCH). Queen Mariam, who holds the esteemed title of Maha Putri of the Royal House of Luzon Tagalog, a lineage connected to the Royal Maharlika from the Sultanate of Maguindanao, spearheads this global initiative that champions humanitarian efforts and cross-cultural understanding.

Mr. Bansal's journey in the legal profession is a testament to perseverance and unwavering commitment. A first-generation lawyer, he embarked on his legal career on July 23, 1970, after earning his LL.B. degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He initially established his practice in the District Courts of Karnal and the High Court, laying a strong foundation for a remarkable career.

In 1980, Mr. Bansal’s pursuit of legal excellence led him to shift his practice to the apex court of India, the Supreme Court. His dedication and expertise were further acknowledged when he qualified as an Advocate-on-Record in October 1981. Since then, his practice has been exclusively centered in the Supreme Court, where he has carved a niche as a highly respected legal professional.

His commitment to the legal fraternity extends beyond his individual practice. Mr. Bansal was twice elected as the Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), serving from 1986 to 1988. His peers again recognized his leadership qualities by electing him Vice-President of the SCBA for two consecutive terms, from 1989 to 1991.

Mr. Bansal’s expertise and integrity have also led to significant appointments by governmental bodies. He served as the Standing Counsel for the State of Punjab (Civil) in the Supreme Court from March 1991 to 1996. Later, he held the distinguished position of Senior Additional Advocate General for the State of Haryana from 2008 to 2014. His counsel has been sought by numerous prominent organizations, including the State of Uttar Pradesh, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), among others.

With an impressive record of conducting over 3,000 cases in the Supreme Court, including several landmark reported cases, Mr. Bansal’s contributions to the Indian legal landscape are undeniable. His profound understanding of the law and his ethical approach earned him a recommendation for designation as a Senior Advocate by a distinguished committee of Senior Advocates, headed by Mr. K. Parasaran, the former Attorney General of India, and the AOR's Association.

Mr. Bansal's legacy of legal excellence is also being carried forward by the next generation of his family. His three granddaughters, Swati Bansal, Vaishali Gupta, and Ayushi Bansal, along with his grandson-in-law, Shobhit Garg, are all practicing members of the legal fraternity, associated with GKB Partners and G.K. Bansal & Company, representing a continuation of his commitment to justice in the Supreme Court, High Court, and other judicial forums.

Upon receiving this prestigious honor, Mr. Bansal expressed his deep gratitude, acknowledging the grace of God and the unwavering support of his friends throughout his illustrious career.
