A new global standard for humanitarianism has been set. The 8th We Care for Humanity (WCH) Royal Summit, hosted at the magnificent UC Silver Gold, concluded this week as an unprecedented success.
Hosted by We Care for Humanity (WCH), the Sultanate of Maguindanao, and the Royal Maharlika, the three-day summit was a historic convergence of over 20 monarchs from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Africa—a first in the summit's history. Under the leadership of HRH Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, Founder of WCH, and co-host HM Sultan Abdulaziz Zulkarnain Mastura Kudarat VI of Maguindanao, the summit shifted the global paradigm from dialogue to direct, tangible action.
The event was anchored by its Chief Guests, including H.E. Ivo Josipović, Former President of Croatia; The Honorable Ponnala Laksmaiah, Patron of Honor and former Indian Minister; and HRM Nana (King) Akomanyi Essandoh V of Ghana, whose presence underscored the summit's global prestige.
A Historic Gathering of Monarchs
The 8th Royal Summit was honored by the presence and active participation of the host nation's royal houses, solidifying its status as a landmark event. The monarchs from Indonesia who graced the summit included:
The first day, themed "A Royal Convergence: Uniting Kingdoms for a Humanitarian Future," set the tone. Following a symbolic Ribbon Cutting and a stunning opening dance by Tetamian Peliatan, the summit's core WCH Humanitarian and Investment Forum was convened. Moderated by HRH Maha Putri Mariam, the forum delivered powerful insights through its panels: "Unity In Action: How We Care For Humanity And Our Partners Forge A Greater Impact," "A New Architecture for Peace: Integrating Peace Institutions, Philanthropic Organizations, and Traditional Leadership," and "Heirs to the Future: Young Leaders, Ancient Wisdom, and the AI Revolution."
A highlight was the presentation of the WCH Global Steward of Local Wisdom and Cultural Harmony Award to H.E. Dedi Mulyadi, Governor of West Java, following his inspirational speech. The day's program also featured a musical performance by Frederick James Koch.
The evening's Peace Concert and Bonfire Dinner provided a space for unity, featuring performances by Sharon Tanyag. The night culminated in a Bonfire Pledge for Peace, where delegates committed their personal vows to the flame, along with performances by the Royal Ladies of Maguindanao, a Traditional Chinese Dance by Lola Smallen, Leah Halama and Anna Pheng, and a captivating Belly Dance by Lola.
Day two was a testament to cultural diplomacy, beginning with a visit to the World Peace Gong Park. Delegates were then hosted by the Kingdom of Peliatan and the Kingdom of Ubud, where the Balinese royal houses welcomed them with extraordinary grace and hospitality.
The day culminated in the opulent Royal Gala & Awards. The evening began with a National Costume Fashion Show and a Grand Royal Entrance of all monarchs and honorees. The gala featured world-class entertainment, including a powerful opening concert by "Asia's King of Pop" Alston Koch and a duet with his son, Frederick James Koch, a dynamic vocal performance by Sharon Tanyag, a mesmerizing violin performance by Noami Konforta, and traditional Balinese Puspanjali and Baris Tunggal dances.
A centerpiece of the Royal Gala was a heartfelt Tribute to the Patron of Honor, The Honorable Ponnala Laksmaiah. Introduced by HRH Maha Putri Mariam, the tribute honored his lifelong dedication to public service, community development, and philanthropy. In a show of international respect, his biography was read by world leaders H.E. Ivo Josipović, HM Dr. Hadja Raden Ayu Mgad. The summit's promise of "From Dialogue to Action" was fulfilled on day three. The entire delegation dedicated the day to direct humanitarian work, distributing food relief and school supplies to 212 children at the School for Children with Disability (SLB Negeri 1 Denpasar). Following this, the delegation visited the Yayasan Peduli Kanker Anak Bali (Bali Care For Cancer Kids Foundation), providing comfort and a collective monetary donation.
"This summit was not just a meeting; it was a movement," said HRH Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura, Founder of WCH. "We built tangible bridges between royal wisdom and modern investment, and then we walked that bridge together to serve those in need. The generosity of our royal hosts and the dedication of our delegates have proven that when we unite under the banner of humanity, anything is possible. The 8th WCH Royal Summit was the world's heart, beating in Bali. And now, we go forward, united."
