The video serves as a cornerstone of SHOR – Sada Haq, Our Rights, a community education and empowerment initiative delivered by Kaur Lab UK CIC and funded by the Office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.
Although the Victims' Code has existed in England and Wales for nearly two decades, widespread gaps in awareness leave many victims uninformed about their entitlement to crucial support, information, and justice services throughout the criminal proceedings.
To bridge this gap, the campaign features diverse leaders and influencers each presenting one of the 12 Core Rights under the Victims' Code, making complex legal protections accessible to all communities. While launching during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the initiative extends a lifeline to victims of all crimes, including domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crimes, stalking, and assault.
Empowering Communities Through Education and Dignity
Kaur Lab UK CIC is a South Asian women-led community interest company committed to dismantling inequality and eradicating violence through research, education, and advocacy, with a focused mission to protect and uplift Sikh and South Asian women and girls. Through SHOR, the organization hosts educational workshops, engages places of worship, and trains grassroots Community Champions to ensure no victim walks alone.
Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura (Queen Maria), Founder and President of We Care for Humanity, commended the initiative:"Access to justice and human dignity are universal human rights. We Care for Humanity stands firmly with Kaur Lab UK CIC in breaking the silence around victims' rights. Knowledge is a transformative tool of empowerment—when individuals know their rights, they regain their voice and power. We are proud to amplify this vital movement during the 16 Days of Activism."
Echoing this vision of shared human dignity, Sahdaish Pall BEM, Founder and Director of Kaur Lab UK CIC, stated:
"For nearly 20 years, the Victims' Code has set out the rights of victims of crime, yet so many people still don't know these rights exist. We want to change that. When someone experiences crime, they should know what information, support, and services they can expect. By bringing together public figures and community leaders, we're sending a powerful message: victims matter, their voices matter, and their rights matter. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to this video and to We Care for Humanity for recognizing and supporting our work."
Global Launch During 16 Days of Activism
The official awareness video will premiere during the international 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (November 25 – December 10, 2026). The campaign calls upon civil society, regional leaders, and international partners to foster a global culture of respect, safety, and equality.
The launch will be distributed across Kaur Lab UK CIC’s digital channels and WCH’s global networks, encouraging supporters worldwide to learn, share, and advocate.
Know Your Rights. Share Them. Empower Others.
