Queen Maria and Princess Condrokirono Strengthen Ties at Historic Meeting in Yogyakarta Palace

HRH Maha Putri Maria and HRH Gusti Kanjeng
Ratu (GKR) Condrokirono
In a significant step toward strengthening international cultural ties, Maha Putri Mariam Leonor Torres Mastura (Queen Maria), Founder and President of We Care for Humanity (WCH), paid a courtesy visit to the Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat (The Palace of Yogyakarta).

The Kingdom of Yogyakarta holds a unique status in Indonesia, ruled by His Majesty Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, who serves as both Sultan and Governor. While His Majesty attended to state matters, Queen Maria was graciously received by his second daughter, Her Royal Highness Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Condrokirono.

The visit commenced with a Royal Banquet for breakfast, discussing the preservation of Javanese heritage. In a Felicitation Ceremony, HRH GKR Condrokirono gifted Queen Maria a rare native Batik scarf. In return, Queen Maria honored the Princess with the We Care for Humanity (WCH) Badge, recognizing her dedication to her people.

Following the reception, Queen Maria was given an exclusive royal tour of the Museum Kereta Keraton Yogyakarta (The Royal Carriage Museum) to witness the magnificent carriages of the Kings. This was followed by a special tour of the Palace grounds, where Queen Maria was accompanied by her friends from Jakarta, Bryan and his mother.

The meeting, coordinated by YM Ray Dewi Ranggani, successfully established a foundation for future collaboration.
