In a swift response to the week-long flooding that devastated agricultural livelihoods in the region, Bai Tharhata D. Ampatuan, the We Care for Humanity (WCH) Regional Director for Mindanao-at-Large, spearheaded a massive relief operation under the banner of the Lakbai Program, Agapay at Lingap.
We Care for Humanity (WCH) served as a proud collaborator in this humanitarian mission, supporting the initiative to bring immediate aid to 500 families displaced by the calamity.
The severe flooding, which persisted for seven days, destroyed local farms and disrupted the lives of the community. To address the urgent need for food security, the mission successfully distributed 600 sacks of rice (10 kilograms per sack).
The relief operation was fully sponsored by Bai Tharhata D. Ampatuan and the Lakbai Program. The aid was specifically targeted toward the most vulnerable sectors of the community, including:
Farmers whose crops were completely destroyed.
Madrasah Teachers and Religious Leaders who serve as pillars of the community.
Families displaced by the inundation.
This collaboration highlights the importance of local leadership and strategic partnerships in times of disaster. Through the Lakbai Program, Agapay at Lingap, and the support of WCH, the people of Kabuntalan received not just essential supplies, but a message of solidarity and hope.
